There is no single best GEO agency in Germany, because the right one depends on your size, your sector and how much you want done for you.
For most small and medium-sized businesses that already generate revenue, WP SEO AI is the best fit. It combines a platform that measures your visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews with a dedicated contact person who works on improving it, and 297 official German customers already use it. If you are a large group, a B2B software company or a brand that needs community and PR work, other providers below fit better, and we say which.
One thing up front: this is our own page, so we list ourselves first, and WP SEO AI is not a classic agency. It is a platform with agency-level support. Many “best GEO agency” lists are written by the provider that ranks first on them, and the largest German comparison we found is sponsored by the providers it recommends (it says so itself). So we do not ask you to trust our order. For every provider we show the same five checks, and where we found nothing, the table says so.
What does a GEO agency do?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization: making your business more likely to be named and cited in answers from AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews. A GEO agency typically does four things:
- Measures whether, how often and in what context AI tools mention your brand for the questions your customers ask.
- Fixes the foundation on your site: clear answers, structured content, crawler access and consistent business information.
- Builds authority beyond your own site, through reviews, mentions and digital PR, because AI tools draw on more than one source.
- Reports honestly. AI answers vary per user and per session, so no one can promise a specific position.
That last point is a useful filter. Any agency that guarantees a place in ChatGPT’s answer is selling something it cannot control.
How we compared them
We did not invent a score. Points are easy to bend, so we checked five facts that anyone can verify on a public page:
- Named service. Is GEO sold as its own service, with the deliverables described?
- Measurement. Does the provider name a tool or method for tracking AI visibility?
- Published AI results. Are there numbers for AI visibility or mentions, not only for classic SEO traffic?
- Independent reviews. Is there a review score on a platform such as OMR Reviews, Trustpilot or Clutch, not only testimonials on the provider’s own site?
- Size. Does the provider state a team size or client count?
Each provider gets a tick, “partly” or “none found”. The order of the providers below follows the number of ticks, with “partly” as the tie-breaker, and WP SEO AI is placed first because this is our page. Everything comes from each provider’s own website or a named review platform, checked on 28 October 2026. Client counts and case results are self-reported unless we say otherwise. We left out pricing on purpose, because most providers publish none and quotes depend on scope.
“None found” means we did not find it on a public page, not that it does not exist. We could not load Radyant’s own website during our check, so its entry is based on its Clutch profile, a published partner case study and third-party listings.
The 10 providers
1. WP SEO AI
Platform plus dedicated contact person, headquartered in Amsterdam, serving 297 official German customers. Research, content production, publishing and optimization run in one platform, with measurement of AI visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews. Built for small and medium-sized businesses that already generate revenue, not for freelancers and not for large enterprises with a full in-house SEO team. Rated 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 231 reviews (de.trustpilot.com/review/wpseoai.com), and 12 of the 13 reviews on the first page come from Germany. Customer results are in the section below.

2. Suchhelden.
Full-service SEO agency from Osnabrück with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Munich, owner-managed since 2012, with over 140 employees. GEO is a named service built on prompt analysis and AI citation monitoring, with its own tool, GeoStars, whose metrics it does not detail. Its one published GEO case, Held+Team, reports +3,175% visibility and +642% mention rate in AI answers, without baseline or timeframe. It claims over 1,000 clients and holds a 5.0 rating from 41 reviews on OMR Reviews. Built for everything from start-ups to international groups. Note that its “Top 100 SEO” ranking of 10.40 is an SEO visibility score, and GEO is not fully included in it.
3. Radyant
Berlin SEO and GEO agency founded in 2019, listed on Clutch with 10 to 49 employees. A case study published by the AI analytics vendor Peec reports AI search visibility rising from 10% to 40% for Heyflow, and a fivefold increase in SEO and AI search leads for Planeco Building. Both figures come from a partner with a commercial interest and are not independently verified. Its Clutch profile also names clients such as Allianz Suisse, Docplanner and osapiens. Best for start-ups and scale-ups that want a specialist team working with measured prompts. We found no independent review score.
4. ithelps Digital
SEO and GEO agency with addresses in Vienna and Munich and 20+ experts across Europe. It sells GEO as its own service, covering content and structure for AI search, and names rankscale.ai for AI visibility monitoring, alongside Ahrefs, Sistrix and Search Console. Its published case studies are all SEO traffic results, such as +224% traffic for a Vienna dental practice, with no AI visibility cases. It claims 900+ projects. Its review counts on its own site differ between sections (250+, 300+ and 366), so we treat them as self-reported. Best for small and local service businesses in Austria and Germany.
5. Claneo
Berlin SEO agency founded in 2017 with over 80 experts and in-house coverage of more than 10 languages. GEO and LLMO is a named service, and the agency published a German-language GEO book and runs a GEO academy, though its site does not describe what the GEO service includes. It holds a 4.9 rating from 7 reviews on OMR Reviews. Its published case studies cover content and digital PR (HelloFresh, Pattex) and show no figures. Best for large brands and international sites that need many markets covered.
6. TRYSEO
Boutique SEO and GEO agency from Magdeburg for B2B mid-sized companies and tech businesses. GEO and LLM optimization are named services, covering strategy, implementation and entity optimization. It shows eight client logos and no client count, no case figures and no named tracking tool. It holds a 4.9 rating from 4 reviews on OMR Reviews, which is a small sample. Best for B2B mid-sized firms that want one boutique partner.
7. Webnity X
Web and SEO agency from Bergheim near Cologne that builds sites (it is a Framer expert agency) and sells “GEO & AEO” with a GEO audit. It states 40+ projects and takes four new projects a month. It publishes no GEO figures and does not describe its measurement method, and its 5.0 rating from 20+ Google reviews is self-reported. Best if you also need a new website built with GEO in mind.
8. Aufgesang
Hannover SEO and PR agency working with large and medium-sized companies, including Volkswagen Group Services, Tamaris and Rossmann, and says it helps over 70 of them. GEO is a named service with several parts: LLM readability, ongoing brand context optimization, a brand positioning audit and agentic commerce optimization, plus a free LLM readability check. It names no measurement tool, publishes no case figures on its homepage and shows no independent review score. Best for large brands that want PR and GEO together.
9. famefact
Berlin agency that treats community content as a GEO lever, with a dedicated Reddit service, social search optimization and monitoring of brand mentions in AI answers. It reports monthly on mentions in AI answers, but it does not say how it tracks them. It states no team size, client count or case figures, and no review score. Best if your audience lives on Reddit or social search and you want a community angle.
10. Leadeffect
Hamburg agency founded in 2017 with a core team of eight plus freelancers, specializing in B2B IT, software and SaaS companies. It sells “KI-Suche & GEO” as a named service, but does not describe what it includes. Its published cases are lead results from SEA and SEO, such as 25 leads a month for QM Pilot, not AI visibility. Its client count differs between the hero text (70+) and the FAQ (50+). Best for IT and software companies that want lead tracking at the centre.

Many figures here are self-reported, and review counts on a provider’s own site are less reliable than a named review platform. A tick means we found it on a public page. It does not mean the claim is verified, and it says nothing about the quality of the work.
What WP SEO AI customers report
Claims are cheap, so here are customers in their own numbers. These cases come from our Dutch customers, since our German case library is still being built. All figures are reported by the customers and by WP SEO AI’s own tracking, and results vary per site. No provider can guarantee a specific AI placement, and we cannot either.
Maessen Tentsupply: from a brand-new website to a €37,000 deal. Maessen started with a new site with no authority, after an earlier SEO agency engagement that produced months of spend and no results. Between April and June its organic clicks grew from 28 to 172 per month (+514%), with roughly 83% of June traffic coming from WP SEO AI content. The site was cited both in a Google AI Overview and in ChatGPT. A request for a tent structure to serve as a temporary showroom for cars came in through ChatGPT and became a €37,000 project. In the customer’s words: “We picked up a lead from a client who found us via ChatGPT. […] It turned into a great project that was well worth the investment in GEO.” (Jimco Zijlstra, Sr Account Manager)
GeldZo: named the #1 recommendation in ChatGPT. For a “recommended ODV specialists in the Netherlands” question, ChatGPT named GeldZo.nl as its first result. That is a direct recommendation, which is a stronger outcome than being cited as one source among several.
How AI tools decide who to name
ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity work differently from Google. A search engine shows ten results. An AI model writes one answer and usually names only a few sources. Becoming visible is therefore not about ranking, it is about winning a place in a very short list. Research by Princeton University and IIT Delhi, published at the KDD conference in 2024, and a later analysis of 54 studies and experiments by Zyppy, point to what makes the difference:
- Brand awareness. How often people already search for your brand name is a strong predictor of AI citations.
- A direct answer early in the text. Almost half of all citations come from the first part of a page.
- Self-contained, compact blocks. Passages of roughly 50 to 150 words that answer a question on their own are cited more often than long, unstructured text.
- Presence in several places. Brands that appear on review sites, not only on their own site, are chosen as a source more often.
- Concrete numbers, quotes and sources. Content with statistics, an expert quote or a clear source scores better.
An llms.txt file ranks weakest of 23 factors in the Zyppy analysis, and structured data has a positive but small effect. If a provider’s pitch leans on those, ask what else it does.
How to choose the right GEO agency
No provider is best for everyone. This is the logical choice per situation.
You are a growing business with revenue and want results without hiring a team. WP SEO AI.
You are a large group or sell in many countries. Suchhelden for DACH scale, Claneo for many languages.
You are a start-up or scale-up that wants a specialist team on measured prompts. Radyant.
You are a B2B IT or software company. Leadeffect, or TRYSEO for B2B mid-sized firms.
You want GEO combined with PR for a large brand. Aufgesang.
Your audience lives on Reddit or social search. famefact.
You are a local or service business in Austria or Germany. ithelps Digital.
You also need a new website. Webnity X.
Questions to ask before hiring a GEO agency
A good pitch names things you can see, such as the prompt set it will track, the entity audit it will run and the citation report you will receive. A weak pitch uses adjectives such as “pioneer” or “proprietary”. Ask:
- What exactly is included each month, and how long is the commitment?
- Which prompts will you track for us, and will the same set be used before and after the work?
- Can you show a named client whose AI visibility, not only classic SEO traffic, moved, with a baseline and a timeframe?
- How do you measure whether we are mentioned, and across which AI tools?
- Which German sources do the AI tools cite in our category, and how do you know?
- Who actually does the work, and will we have one contact person?
- What do you do off our own site to build authority?
- What do you not promise? Walk away from any guarantee of specific AI placements.
- Do we own the content and data if we stop?
Who we left out
We looked at more than 10 providers and left these out because we could not support a GEO claim from a public page:
- seowerk: the site we found is a free SEO tools page, not an agency profile.
- Friendventure: a web development agency whose GEO audit page shows no deliverables, measurement or results.
- KKP (Saarbrücken): a credible search agency with a GEO focus on finance topics, but we found no published GEO results or review scores. A good fit if you are in finance.
- Löwenstark and Dreikon: established SEO and online marketing agencies, where we could not see GEO as a distinct service in what we checked.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best GEO agency in Germany?
For most small and medium-sized businesses that already generate revenue, WP SEO AI is the best choice: it measures AI visibility and works to improve it, with a dedicated contact person. For a large group, Suchhelden or Claneo are worth a conversation, and for B2B software Leadeffect or TRYSEO.
Does a GEO agency really get you cited or recommended by AI?
Sometimes, and it can lead to real business. Maessen Tentsupply received a ChatGPT-sourced lead that became a €37,000 project, and GeldZo was named the #1 recommendation in ChatGPT for a specialist query. These are customer-reported results, and they are not guaranteed outcomes for every site.
What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO aims to rank your pages in a list of search results. GEO aims to get your brand named and cited inside an AI-written answer. They overlap, since AI tools often draw on pages that already rank, but GEO adds a focus on direct answers, brand mentions across other sites and measurement of AI visibility.
Is my current SEO agency enough?
Often only partly. Classic SEO and GEO reinforce each other, but an SEO agency that cannot show what it measures in AI answers is selling SEO. Ask the questions above.
Can a GEO agency guarantee visibility in ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?
No. AI answers vary per user, per session and per account, so no provider can control a specific result, and that includes us. A trustworthy agency promises a method and honest reporting, not a position.
Do I need a German agency for German-language AI answers?
Not necessarily, but German-language content and German sources matter for German queries. Ask any provider how it handles German prompts and which German sources it targets.
How can I check my own AI visibility for free?
Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity your customers’ most important questions in German and note whether you are mentioned. For a faster and more complete picture, use the free AI visibility check from WP SEO AI.
